There are few beers in the world as rich in flavour as these strong, roasted stouts which the British exported to the Baltic countries and which are nowadays often brewed on location. Export porters and stouts had high alcohol content to preserve them during transportation, but their strength also suited the cold Baltic climate as well as the Slavic palate. In the English-speaking world these beers are often called Imperial Stouts (The name indicates the popularity of these beers in the Czarist era of Russia; Czar Peter the First travelled abroad and took to British beers and ordered them back home to his court. This prompted A. LeCoq first to start exporting beer to Russia and later to establish a brewery there.) The term porter is preferred in countries that brew this type of beer themselves.
The typical tar-like flavour is combined with a “roasted” fruitiness and warming alcohol.

The Good Soldier Svejk would have enjoyed this dark, slightly sweet, Czech-style beer. Fine hops are used to brew this reddish lager of rich aroma, and quality malt imparts the delicate softness and roundness of taste.

Plevna's first rauchbier, or smoked beer. The colour is dark copper, flavour slightly roasted, tar-like, and full-bodied, with a bite of bitterness in the aftertaste. The smoky flavour of the beer is achieved with a smoked malt from Bamberg, Germany. The malt is dried over a fire made with beechwood logs, which gives it the smoky aroma. A true speciality, bound to surprise a newcomer and satisfy the palate of an enthusiast.

- Original gravity: 12.6° Plato
- Hop: Vanguard
- Malt: smoked malt of Bamberg, pilsner, dark, caramel

This is a dark, Czech-style lager that could be described
as the little sister of Plevnas Dark Lager. It was
developed according to customer feedback, and due to a
small residue of unfermented sugar it is noticeably sweeter
than its big brother.
